Why advertise your property on Tesco.com website?
It's an obvious question that warrants discussion. I first heard about this idea 2 years ago. Since then we have portal sites like onemove.com, thesmartwaytorent.com, thinkproperty.com as well as private sale websites such as ourpropertymove.co.uk
Is the market big enough to accommodate a new player - I think so!
From a consumers point of view a massive site like Tesco.com is a very BIG shop window to advertise your property. Their tie-in with Fish4.co.uk enables independent estate agents to benefit from extra market exposure.
Now here's the rub.
The site seems to have a foot in both camps and is more than a property portal; offering 'Low cost conveyancing' and more, which might not sit well with an independent estate agent.

Is this the shape of things to come?
Think back to when the first loyalty card was introduced and the number of large corporates that got onto the bandwaggon!
When you think about it though, I can see why. House prices have steadily been increasing over the past 3 years, and the estate agents commissions have been rising accordingly but are we getting any more value for money from the estate agent?
It's fair to say that traditional estate agency is changing in line with customer expectations, government legislation and competition from private sale websites.
This transition will be tougher on smaller independent estate agents working on tight margins and limited resources.
It's early days yet, but good news for the consumer.
